There are currently just over 300 children attending the academy - 98 of whom are orphaned or are particularly underprivileged and require sponsorship.

The academy (not government funded) is the top school in the District, beating 56 other schools and retaining the full 6 trophies awarded for Best Overall, Maths, English, Science, Social studies and Kiswahili for a second year running.

This success is not only down to the incredible teaching and pastoral care that is given to each child by all the staff, but also by the introduction of boarding for Classes 7 & 8 (top end Primary). This has enabled them to study in to the late evening thanks to a new electricity supply and has also ensured a full healthy diet.

The total cost of fully sponsoring a child is £25 per month.  This covers tuition, food (2 meals a day), uniform and shoes, text and exercise books, pens/pencils, fuel (as most are coached to/from school each day) and contributes to boarding where orphaned or boarding to study.

The children are amazing and so keen to learn - they actually don’t look forward to the school holidays!!  There are many girls and boys from the age of 4/5 that would not only benefit from your financial support but would absolutely love to receive letters and photos from you. You could even visit?

Over the past few years a few children/students have greatly benefited through sponsorship from the UK.  As the projects, and in particular the RUSH academy have expanded, so has the need to establish a more long term sponsorship programme.  It is very exciting for us to now extend the scheme to enable even more children to flourish and achieve their full potential.
